Description
The first book published in Europe by German-Argentine photographer Annemarie Heinrich (Germany, 1912 – Argentina, 2005). Through nearly 300 pages of splendid black-and-white photography, the book traces her career, from experimental photography and her work on ballet and the entertainment world, to her masterful portraits and more personal creations.
It was the early 1920s in Berlin, after World War I, and a young German girl named Annemarie Heinrich was nurturing two passions she would never pursue directly: dance and theater. However, later in Argentina, she channeled her refined intelligence into becoming a scenographer and choreographer of photographic images, establishing herself as one of the most important photographers specializing in art and entertainment.
In 2024, up to three exhibitions dedicated to Annemarie Heinrich will be held in Berlin, marking her homeland’s definitive recognition of her as one of the leading photographers of the 20th century. This exquisite edition brings Annemarie Heinrich's mastery of light and black-and-white photography into view for all photography art enthusiasts.
