The images in this book were first published in 1974 in the book "Retrato y autorretrato" by Sara Facio and Alicia D'Amico. Since then, they have been reproduced in dozens of books and various graphic media, television, and the internet. They have also been featured in exhibitions. This new edition includes both 20th-century pioneers and those who, in the 1960s, achieved their first successes with the public and critics. Each writer is presented with a series of photographs, an excerpt from their work, and a brief recollection by the photographer of the moment when the shots were taken. More than fifty years after the first interviews, the passage of time gives this volume a historical document character that invites conclusions not only about the selection of writers but also about the literary and photographic aspects.
