Photography
Description
A visual and historical journey through the first decades of the 20th century in Argentina, based on the archive of Swiss photographer Gastón Bourquin (Villeret, Switzerland, 1890 – Buenos Aires, Argentina, 1950). His renowned photographs captured the diverse landscapes and customs of a large part of Argentina and were featured in numerous albums, books, and postcards. The reproductions in this book were made from the digitization of the photographer's original negatives, so they do not show any compositional cropping or exposure correction that a vintage print might have. The books on Argentine photography published by Ediciones de la Antorcha have the particularity of including a large number of images accompanied by texts written by renowned researchers.
