Andrew Dempsey dedicated a decade to studying Juan Rulfo's photographic collection, which consists of around 6,000 images. This book-catalog is the first to draw from a comprehensive understanding of Juan Rulfo's entire archive and brings together most of the genres he cultivated, appropriately balanced: Mexico's buildings, the country's diverse landscapes, the life of small towns, the artists, writers, friends, and family of Juan Rulfo. The book includes two texts by Juan Rulfo: one dedicated to Henri Cartier-Bresson during both periods of his time in Mexico, and another about the Mexican photographer Nacho López.
