Santiago Barreiro, Andrés Cuenca, Nicolás Garrido, Sergio Gómez, Manuel Mendoza, and Pablo Rivara are six professional Uruguayan photographers who joined forces to carry out a proposal by the Down Syndrome Association of Uruguay: to document the everyday life of children and young people with Down syndrome. The collection of photographs from this project showcases a very consistent body of work, in a distinctive documentary photography style, where one can perceive the integration of the photographers with the subjects. This is the only way to capture the most intimate moments, laden with profound human content.
