Guided tour by Víctor López Zumelzu of "Carrusel de melancolías"

The Chilean poet and curator Víctor López Zumelzu will offer a tour of the photographic work of Leonora Vicuña, decoding the multidisciplinary context in which her extensive, personal, and at the same time complex work unfolds, with a unique poetic vision.

The tour will address themes such as Chile's historical memory during the dictatorship, the night, the street, and bars as spaces of resistance and pleasure, as well as the paradigmatic temporality proposed by the artist in her everyday portraits and the male figure of the worker. Through these topics, we will delve into the distinctive qualities of Leonora Vicuña’s work, as well as its significance as an archive and radical proposition in Latin American photography.

About Víctor López Zumelzu: Chilean poet, critic, and curator. He holds a Master's degree in Art Theory and Criticism.
