Florencia Blanco will give a talk in the room with photographer Gabriel Valansi as part of "Ch’ixifuturismo. Architecture by Freddy Mamani, photographs by Florencia Blanco." Together, they will offer a tour of the pieces about Freddy Mamani's work, the city of El Alto, and its culture.

About Gabriel Valansi: Visual artist. His work spans photography, music, installations, and video. He has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Argentina, France, Austria, Germany, Israel, Switzerland, the United States, Brazil, Colombia, and Paraguay, among others. His works are included in various state and private collections. He is a curator and has served as a judge in different photography and contemporary art awards and competitions. He was a consulting member of the contemporary photography collection at the Museum of Modern Art in Buenos Aires. In 2003, he received the Artist of the Year award from the Association of Art Critics. The association considered his exhibition Abstract (1-72) (Museum of Modern Art of Buenos Aires) as the Best Multimedia Exhibition of 2005. His musical experiments include the online radio surrenderradio.com. In addition to his solo music career, since 2014 he has been part of Vilna (a group for sound experimentation) with Sebastián Schachtel. As an educator, he directs workshops and laboratories in contemporary art. Since 1999, he has been a full professor of Audiovisual Design and holds the Chair of Photography in the Image and Sound Design program at the University of Buenos Aires.
