"Tiempo real": What is it?
It is an interactive installation that grows day by day.
It is both an individual and collective experience simultaneously.
It it evidence of how every photograph fundamentally contains a passage or movement.
It is an expression of how noble techniques (in this case, the ancient camera obscura) refuse to disappear.
Visitors can choose from ore or all of the following options:
- Learn about, inside and out, the camera obscura.
- Discover how the mechanism and the process of creating photographic images were before the arrival of digital imagery.
- Explore the room and watch the projected videos that document the entire process in real time.
- Witness how other people are photographed.
- Observe the portraits the neighbors and other participants will be creating, which will be displayed on a wall in the room, forming an album.
- Be photographed by the artist with the giant camera.
- Enter the interior of the camera and witness the developing process performed by the artist for the recently taken photo.
Undoubtedly, a unique experience!
"Tiempo real" was exhibited at Rolf Art (2019), BAPhoto (2019) and Paris Photo (2023). On this occasion, it is being presented for the first time at the institution, Fundación Larivière Fotografía Latinoamericana, curated by Raúl Flores and in association with the Buenos Aires Performance Biennial, to offer a unique experience especially for the community of the La Boca neighborhood, home to the Foundation.
Vivian Galban will exhibit "Tiempo real" in exhibition hall 2 of Fundación Larivière from March 9 to March 23 at Caboto 564, La Boca.
It can be visited from Thursday to Sunday from 12 pm to 7 pm.
On Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 12 pm to 5 pm, the artist will be operating the camera obscura live.
