Description
Series of photographs by one of the most representative figures of Peruvian photography in the first half of the 20th century. An itinerant photographer, he settles in the mining town of Morococha in 1928, where he marries and establishes his own studio. He also works for the Cerro de Pasco Copper Corporation, capturing in his work the development of the mining field and documenting the workers entering the company. His work documents the history of a community marked by a crucial tension between traditional forms and the impulses of a violent process of modernization, triggered by the presence of the mining company. Author: Sebastián Rodríguez.
