Description

Through the 57 photographs of curtains and holes, Peruvian photographer Pablo Hare (Lima, 1972) takes us on a journey through the outskirts of the city of Lima. Over the course of three years, Hare's way of looking at the landscape evolved through his readings of literature about the violence that erupted in Peru almost four decades ago and, in many ways, still hovers over Peruvian daily life. The premise driving the book is that of a landscape in which the specter of violence—and death—still silently lurks in the background.
