Restrepo, Mónica

Colombian artist born in 1982. She studied at the local School of Fine Arts in Cali. She completed the postgraduate program at the National Superior School of Fine Arts in Lyon and the Space Program Tasks in Beirut, Lebanon. Through research, performance, and a documentary approach, her work is based on seemingly banal and small stories that she uses as arguments to fabricate "absent images," "installations, and absent narratives." From a performative standpoint, these stories are always related to memory and documentation; she reacts, reinterprets, or recreates these stories to make them speak through their impotence and failure.
