Millán, Ana María
Colombian artist born in 1975. Her work locates a personal and skeptical voice within the narrative spaces of video. She explores different forms of information transmission in relation to subcultures, ideas of violence, and discourses of exclusion. She speaks from the perspective of amateur culture and local narratives, incorporating the possibilities and errors inherent in essayistic approaches, as well as narrative forms considered dysfunctional. She has presented solo and group exhibitions in Chile (2015), Colombia (2012, 2013, 2014, and 2015), Costa Rica (2013), Guatemala (2008), Madrid (2015), Miami (2014), New York (2011 and 2015), Paris (2005), Rio de Janeiro (2013), San Francisco (United States, 2012), and Vitoria-Gasteiz (2011). She works and lives between Bogota and Berlin.
