Bucher, François
He began his artistic education at the University of the Andes in Colombia, and later pursued a Master's degree in Film at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. He was awarded a research scholarship from the Whitney Independent Study Program in New York. Until 2015, he was a visiting professor at the Academy of Fine Arts at Umea University in Sweden, where he is pursuing a Ph.D. in artistic practices. His work and research have encompassed a wide range of interests and media, focusing on ethical and aesthetic issues in film and television, and more recently, on issues of image in an interdimensional field. His work has been exhibited in institutions in Germany, Mexico, Colombia, Ecuador, Spain, Italy, France, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, the United Kingdom, and the United States. In recent years, he has collaborated with Lina López on several projects, which have been presented at various international art centers. They both curated the international collective exhibition "El mundo fue plano, ahora es redondo y será un holograma" (The world was flat, now it's round and will be a hologram), which has traveled to cities in Mexico, Spain, and Sweden.
