Villanes, Eduardo

Photographer and plastic artist, Villanes exposed in two of his series, "Gloria Evaporada" and "Kerosene" (Lima, 1994-1995), the psicosocial phenomena that took place in Peruvian society during Alberto Fujimori dictatorship, such as the obliteration of collective memory and the identification with the torturer. In his most recent photographic series, "Contact Shits, Fotodiario Colombiano" (Bogotá, 2015-2017), "Villanes registers the disturbing intimacy of an underworld that functions during the night but also in broad daylight, in a space of 5x5 meters in the separation of Caracas Avenue, in front of which the artist lived (...)", in words of Colombian Art historian, Santiago Rueda.
