Yalenti, José
(Brazil 1895 - 1967)
The eldest of seven children of Italian immigrants Olinda and Rafael Yalenti, the São Paulo-born José Vicente Eugênio Yalenti was born on April 26, 1895. He was one of the founders of the Foto Clube Bandeirante in April 1939, to which he remained connected until his death on May 4, 1967. His photographs were featured in numerous national and international exhibitions and are now part of the collections of MASP-Pirelli (São Paulo), the Tate Gallery (London), and the Miami Art Museum.
