Yako, Dani
Born on 12/17/1955, he studied Architecture at the University of Buenos Aires (UBA). In 1975, he began working as a reporter for the newspaper La Calle. In 1976, after being kidnapped by the army, he went into exile in Madrid, where he worked in the most prestigious European and American media until 1983. With the return of democracy, he returned to Argentina and joined the newly created DyN agency, a fundamental space for documentary photography in the 80s. There, he served as editor-in-chief. In this role, he was responsible for training many of the best young photographers in the country. His work was published in magazines in Germany and Brazil, as well as by the agencies Reuters and France Presse, among others. In 1996, he began working as an editor for the newspaper Clarín. He published the books Extinction, Last Images of Work in Argentina (2001); Presage (2007); and 1983, Images of the Return (2008).
