Valenzuela, Mauricio
He studied at the School of Fine Arts of the University of Chile. In his youth, a hitchhiking trip through Chile, from Chiloé to the border with Peru, would be decisive. Subsequently, there were others through Costa Rica, Antarctica, the Chilean Altiplano, and South Africa. An active member of the ACU (Universitary Cultural Group) and the AFI (Independent Photographers Group) during the 80s, his reference group has Claudio Bertoni and Felipe Riobó as privileged interlocutors. He is the author of two photobooks: "Mauricio Valenzuela" (Chilean Photography Economic Editions, 1983) and "La niebla" (La Visita Editions, 2011). His work is featured in important cultural spaces such as the Reina Sofía National Museum Art Center (Madrid, Spain).
