Torres, Nicolás
He is the son of immigrants from the Huancavelica region. For a migrant, moving from the countryside to the city and settling in the capital is akin to conquering new territory. The undulating terrain of the outskirts is both a place to invade and to build a new home. Passionate about photography since childhood, he works with various subjects, capturing the social reality around him: the invasion of industry, neighborhoods marked by the poverty of the Cajamarquilla archaeological site, or the bars where people dance to "chicha," a local popular music. Today, he lives and works in the outskirts of Lima.
