Swinburn, Catalina

Catalina Swinburn Kufferath, visual artist. She was born on August 17, 1979, in Santiago, Chile. Between 1998 and 2001, she studied Art at the Catholic University of Chile. In 2001, she studied Philosophy and Literature at the Autonomous University of Barcelona, Spain. Around 2004, she attended an Introduction to Curating Course at St. Martins School of Art and Design in London, England. In 2005, she participated in the Market and Photography course taught by Christie's Education in London, and in 2006, she attended The London Academy for a Digital Photography course. From 2005 to 2008, she carried out curatorial and management work for the Buenos Aires Photo Fair on behalf of the Isabel Aninat Gallery, and during the same years, she was part of the Independent Art Consulting. Between 2006 and 2009, she was in charge of International Relations at the Isabel Aninat Gallery. Since 2002, she has been part, along with Catalina Swinburn, of the art collective Aninat & Swinburn, where they create artistic installations that are later used as settings for performative actions.
