Saderman, Anatole
He began in photography with the camera given to him by the principal of the Montevideo school where he finished his studies. He was a cultured man who studied Slavic philology, art history, and drawing. In 1938, he exhibited his "Portraits of Argentine Artists" at the Society for the Promotion of Fine Arts. Later, he distanced himself from commercial photography and focused on character portraits. He was a founding member of the Association of Professional Photographers, the Argentine Photo Club, and the Buenos Aires Photo Club. In 1961, he held his first retrospective exhibition. He photographed visual artists and numerous personalities such as Jorge Luis Borges, Pablo Neruda, and Pablo Casals, among others. In 1981, he exhibited in Barcelona, in 1987 in a group show in Zurich, and in 1993 in Huelva. In 1984, he was declared an Illustrious Citizen of the City of Buenos Aires.
