Ríos, Miguel Ángel
He studied at the National Academy of Fine Arts in Buenos Aires, Argentina. A selection of his solo exhibitions includes Museo de Arte Carrillo Gil, Mexico City (2011); For you - Para usted, Daros Latinamerica, Zurich (2009); Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego (2009); Aquí, Galería EVO, Santa Fe (2008); Blaffer Gallery, University of Houston (2007); Miguel Ángel Ríos: Love, Miami Art Museum (2006); Concentration 49, Dallas Museum of Art, Dallas (2006); A Morir – ‘til death, Artists Space, New York (2003). He has also participated in several group exhibitions, including: Portraits and Places, The Bronx Museum of the Arts, New York (2004); and Special Projects: Summer 2001, PS1 Contemporary Art Center, New York (2001). His work has been presented at the 5th International Biennial of New Media Art in Seoul (2008); Sydney Biennale (2002); Gwangju Biennale, Korea (2000); and the Havana Biennials (1997 and 2000). In 1988, he received a John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation fellowship. His work is included in various collections, including: Museum of Modern Art, New York; Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, Washington DC; Philadelphia Museum of Art; Miami Art Museum; Patricia Cisneros Collection, Miami; and Diane Halle Collection, Phoenix.
