Rojas, Carlos Germán

As a mere 17-year-old, he worked at the Torre de la Prensa. There, he met photojournalist Héctor Rondón, who taught him the basics of camera handling and laboratory work. He was his assistant in 1976, before assisting Thimo Rodríguez in 1977. Later, he familiarized himself with new techniques at a photography store and attended various workshops at CONAC. He worked as a social photographer for the magazine "Venezuela Gráfica" and eventually joined the Fototeca for six or seven years. There, he encountered a trend that led him to go beyond press or social photography. As a photographer-author, his work is confined to the everyday realm through portraits, mainly of his surroundings, friends, and loved ones.
