Rivas, Daniel

Argentinian artist. He studied at the School of Arts and Crafts of Benito Quinquela Martín, and painting at MEEBA and in the workshop of Juan López Taétzel. He received training in photography at the School of Professional Photographers with Juan Travnik, C. Capatto, and Professor O. García Ramos. He has held numerous photographic exhibitions and received several awards. He co-produced and photographed the book for the exhibition "Caballos en Libertad" (Horses in Freedom), featuring works by renowned Argentine visual artists. He has done photography and directed music videos for artists such as Jaime Torres, Nelly Omar, Rubén Juárez, el Sexteto Mayor, Néstor Tomassini, Virginia Innocenti, among others. He also directed the film "Abrazos: Tango in Buenos Aires." In 2009, he held a retrospective exhibition of his entire body of work in La Plata. He has been invited to participate in numerous international exhibitions in Australia, Belgium, Barcelona, the Venice Biennale, and Paris. He was selected for the biennials of Turin and the Museum of Image and Sound in São Paulo. The publishing house La Azotea selected his work for their book "Current Argentine Photography I" and for their exhibitions "Adolescencia" and "Transformaciones." His work is featured in public collections in Argentina and abroad, as well as in private collections in Argentina, Peru, Chile, the United States, Italy, Spain, and France.
