Reynoso, Antonio
Before dedicating himself to photography, he studied painting and architecture at the Academy of San Carlos, where he was heavily influenced by the painter Manuel Rodríguez Lozano. The example of Manuel Álvarez Bravo guided his photographic education. Reynoso began exhibiting his photographs in 1934, at the age of 20, at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. In the early sixties, he partnered with his disciple Rafael Corkidi to found CineFoto, a company whose name already indicated their intention to venture into the cinematic medium. He participated in the creation of several short films, documentaries, and commercials. As a cameraman, he worked on "Camino a la vida," a film by Rodríguez Lozano and Rodolfo Usigli, as well as "Fando y Lis" by Alejandro Jodorowsky. In 1960, he directed a film inspired by a text by Juan Rulfo, titled "El despojo."
