Piazza, María Cecilia
After studying at the Faculty of Letters and Humanities, he entered the National School of Fine Arts of Lima to study Painting. At the same time, he participated in the photography workshop of Fernando La Rosa, Secuencia Foto Galería, and Interfoto. In 1982, he traveled to New York to study photography at Parsons The New School for Design. Upon returning to Lima, he dedicated himself to advertising and commercial photography, a job he continues to this day. One product of his foray into graphic arts—photo serigraphy and photogravure—was the series "Nuestra mujer" ("Our Woman"), which he presented at the VI Havana Biennial in Cuba. In photojournalism, he has worked for the magazines "Amauta," "Quehacer," "Debate," and "Ideele." Among many others, two solo exhibitions stand out: "Wisdom of Pain" in 1996 at the Sicardi-Sanders Gallery in Houston, and "Percepciones" ("Perceptions") at the Peruvian North American Cultural Institute in 2010.
