Otero, Pedro

Pedro Otero was an Argentine draftsman, painter, photographer, and even sculptor whose multiple and genuine talents led him to be considered a master of photography. Strongly influenced by the most significant artistic movements of the early 20th century, it is easy to discern the presence of expressionism, surrealism, romanticism, and even cubism in his work. Otero was a true master of darkroom montage, and much of his work is symbolic, playing with various semantic planes and engaging the viewer's gaze, which must search among the objects for unusual relationships.
