Ortega Navarrete, Arturo

Arturo Ortega Navarrete was an innovative and bold sports photographer, considered one of the top five of his time. From the early 1950s to the mid-1980s, he collaborated with the most important national sports magazines such as Hit, Box y Lucha, Deporte Ilustrado, Clinch, El Punch, among others. He was the first to use electronic flash in sports photography and to publish original sequences and aspects of the sports he covered. In 1968, he was part of the team of photographers hired to document the Olympics. Later, he began his collector phase by acquiring important photographic archives.
