Lorca, Germán
He studied accounting at the Academic Lyceum of Sao Paulo. His interest in photography grew, and he self-taught himself around the active Foto Cine Club Bandeirante in his city. By 1949, he was already dedicating himself to part-time photographic work, and in 1952, he closed his accounting business and opened his first photographic studio. In 1949, he participated in the Bandirantes Film Festival (FCCB), an association of photographers who introduced new trends in photography, such as José Yalenti, Thomaz Farkas, and Geraldo de Barros. He opened a studio in 1952. In 1954, he became the official photographer of the commemorations of the IV Centenary of the City of São Paulo. From that date, he dedicated himself exclusively to photography, primarily in the advertising field, where he won awards such as the Colunistas Award, granted by the magazine "Medio & Mensaje," in 1985 and 1989.
