Korda, Alberto

Advertising photographer and photojournalist. Creator of fashion photography in Cuba. He co-founded the Korda Studios with Luis Pierce (1953-1968). After the triumph of the Revolution, he worked at the newspaper "Revolución" and accompanied Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro as a photographer. In 1961, he took the portrait of Ernesto "Che" Guevara, considered by critics as one of the top ten photographic portraits of all time and the most reproduced photograph of all taken in the world. In 1968, he dedicated himself to scientific underwater photography at the Institute of Oceanology of the Academy of Sciences, producing the Cuban Coral Atlas (1969-1981), while continuing his fashion photography. His work has been exhibited in major galleries in Europe and America.
