Gil, Eduardo
He was born in Buenos Aires in 1948. Around 1980, he began his first documentary essays: "Latin America," "Latin Portraits," and "Latin American Cemeteries." During this time, he started collaborating as a freelance photographer with press media in Argentina and internationally. Since 1981, he has been exhibiting his work both individually and as part of group exhibitions, having participated in over 300 shows in Argentina, Germany, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Cuba, Slovakia, Spain, the United States, France, Guatemala, Great Britain, the Netherlands, Italy, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Sweden, Thailand, Uruguay, and Venezuela. Between 1985 and 2000, he undertook his most extensive essay, which received extensive international exposure, titled "(argentina)": a stark vision of Argentine society post-dictatorship, published in 2002. His works are part of permanent collections in international museums and institutions, as well as significant private collections in Buenos Aires, Madrid, New York, Rio de Janeiro, Lima, Caracas, Mexico, Princeton, Houston, New York, Paris, Gothenburg, among others.
