Bustamante, Jean-Marc
He was born in Toulouse, France, in 1952. He began by creating paintings based on photographs, marking the inception of this medium in the field of art. Bustamante experiments with a wide variety of mediums, creating innovative visual proposals. He is interested in perception and the different ways of seeing the world. He uses the language of photography, sculpture, and painting. Bustamante represented France at the Venice Biennale in 2003 and participated in Documenta 8, 9, and 10. He currently lives and works in Paris.
