Brantmayer, Jorge
Between 1974 and 1979, he studied a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with a major in Painting at the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Chile. He complemented these studies with photography between 1976 and 1979, graduating as a professional photographer from the School of Photo Art of Chile. From 1979, he worked in Venezuela, doing advertising photography and landscape photography of Latin America commissioned by the Central University of Venezuela. He also organized the Photographic Archive of the Metropolitan University in Caracas. From 1988 to 2000, he directed the Brantmayer Photographic Studio, specializing in advertising and editorial photography. He has taken photographs for various books and catalogs of contemporary Chilean artists, such as Gonzalo Díaz, Eugenio Dittborn, Arturo Duclos, Samy Benmayor, Patricia Figueroa, and Iván Daiber. Between 1993 and 2006, he was a photographer for the Gourmand magazine. His works have been published in books such as Art Directors, by the Swiss publisher Rotovision, Cocina Chilena de Norte a Sur, Alta Cocina, and Chile: La Mesa del Mar, the latter receiving an award at the sixth Salon of the Cookbook in Périgueaux, France.
