Bedoya, Juan Enrique

Juan Enrique Bedoya was born in Lima in 1966. He is one of the most interesting artists of his generation. Since the late eighties, he has ventured into the field of photography, initially portraying subjects and spaces in Lima marked by a 'popular' aesthetic previously absent from the artistic and cultural imagination of the city. Over the years, Bedoya has developed multiple projects in which the boundaries of the photographic medium - particularly as it was understood in modern terms by a previous generation of artists working in photography - intentionally blurred. After more than thirty years of work, his interest in the various facets of mass culture takes on a new dimension in MUSEO.
