Ayerza, Francisco
He was born in Buenos Aires on February 22, 1860, the son of the Spanish couple Toribio Ayerza and Adelaida Zabala. He attended Del Salvador School and graduated as a lawyer from the University of Buenos Aires at the age of twenty. He was a renowned lawyer and held a seat in the Chamber of Deputies of the Nation (1894). He had a keen interest in photography. On April 29, 1889, in the city of Buenos Aires, he founded, along with a group of friends, the Sociedad Fotográfica Argentina de Aficionados (SFA de A), which operated until 1926. On the day of its foundation at Ayerza's house, located at 1266 Piedad Street, its provisional committee was composed of: President: Francisco Ayerza, Vice President: Germán Ruhr, Members: José María Gutiérrez, Roberto Wernicke, Ricardo N. Murray, Fritz Büsch, Juan D. Quevedo, and Isidro Calderón y Piñeyro. Also present were Daniel Mackinlay, Fernando Steinius, Fernando Denis, and Leonardo Pereyra Iraola.
