Testoni, Alfredo

Testoni worked as a photographer for "La Mañana" and "El Diario," press outlets where he was the Head of Section. He also served as a correspondent for the American magazines "Life" and "Time." He has participated in numerous exhibitions, both in Uruguay and abroad, for example, in Argentina, Brazil, the Netherlands, Spain, Italy, Japan, the USA, etc. He received several awards, including at the Barcelona Biennial (1955), the National Salon of Visual Arts (1971), the Ibero-American Advertising Biennial in Argentina (1977), the Audiovisual Festival in Uruguay (1978), etc. His artistic concerns have not been limited to photography. He also ventured into video and film, often in the field of advertising. However, his most outstanding works, which include memorable photographs of Montevideo's walls, the series of prints "Consumer Society," the walls of Venice, etc., are pieces that achieved remarkable aesthetic value.
