García, Kattia
Cuban photographer. She studied English Language and Graphic Journalism at the University of Havana. She attended design classes with the visual artist Raúl Martínez and trained as a photographer under Mario García Joya. She worked as an assistant to María Eugenia Haya in her research on the history of Cuban photography. She worked as a photographer at the National Center for Conservation and Restoration of Monuments (CENCREM) in Cuba. In 1991, she joined María E. Haya and Mario García Joya as part of the founding team of the Fototeca de Cuba, where she carries out curatorial work, museography, and coordinates conferences and workshops. She received training in the conservation of photographic material at the Fototeca del INAH in Pachuca, Mexico. Her photographic work has been exhibited in Cuba, Mexico, Canada, the United States, Brazil, Argentina, and various European countries. She currently resides in Mexico.
