Torres Llorca, Rubén

(Cuba 1957)

After studying art in his native Cuba, Ruben moved to Miami where he has been living and working since 1993. The protean nature of his work makes it hard to classify, as he has a penchant for blurring the boundaries between different artistic mediums: painting, drawing, collage, sculpture, installation. The symbolic use of natural materials raises the perspective of a social, cultural and political critique.
