Yente
(Argentina 1905-1990)
Yente, the pseudonym adopted by Eugenia Crenovich, was a painter, illustrator and essayist, one of the pioneers of abstract art in Latin America. With an output employing many different media, from painting and geometric objects to expressionist figurations, her language evolved through drawing and painting as well as collages, tapestries and reliefs. She produced over twenty illustrated books, all unpublished, between 1938 and 1980.
