Andrade, Yolanda
(Mexico 1950-)
Andrade studied at the Visual Studies Workshop in Rochester, New York, and in 1994 was awarded the John Simon Guggenheim Fellowship. Her photographic work spans 40 years, a unique record of the street life and culture of urban spaces, scenes of everyday existence that reveal a panoply of sexual diversity, capturing the life on the margins of society. Andrade’s personal style is very much in evidence through her mastery of both black-and-white and color techniques.
