Ueno, Guillermo
(Lomas de Zamora, November 1968)
He studied photography at the Avellaneda school (1991/92) and with Esteban Marcos (1993/95). Between 1995 and 1999, he was an assistant to Alberto Goldenstein. He exhibited his photographic work at Belleza y Felicidad, Ruth Benzacar Gallery, MALBA Museum, MACRO, MAMBA, MAC Niteroi, MAC Santiago de Chile, Printed Matter, Cosmocosa, Centre photographique Marseille, Centro Cultural Rojas, Norma mía, and Residencia Sao João (Brazil).
In parallel, he works as a Director of Photography on Hachazos (2010) and 327 cuadernos (2014) by Andrés Di Tella. He co-directed two feature films: Alter sapukai! (2011) and Sinuosos y dorados Médanos (2013); Falta algo, imágenes sobre Alberto Goldenstein (2023); and a medium-length film Mario Davidovsky for CETC, Teatro Colón (2014). He worked for the magazine Purple magazine / Purple journal / Cahiers Purple between 2003 and 2016. Together with Valeria Galliso, he runs Fotocrazy, a photography workshop in Penitentiary No. 11 of Piñero, Santa Fe Province.
He co-edited with Lola Goldstein the photography, drawing, poetry, and music publications Hawaii (1999/2006), Otso (2007/2010), El lucero vespertino (2012/2018), Luces pase, astros deje (2022), and La invención de antigüedades (2025).
